The Difference Between 1 Step vs 2 Step Concrete Form
The main difference between 1 Step and 2 Step is the production process.
- 1 Step HDO is produced by pressing the veneer and overlay at the same time. It is important to remember that the face veneer is not sanded. The potential for grain and patch transfer is present.
- 2 Step HDO, however, is produced by pressing the blank and overlay paper separately. The face veneer is fully sanded and repaired. Because of this, the risk of grain and patch transfer for exposed concrete is greatly reduced. 2 Step is used for architectural purposes: smooth, textured or coated concrete, enhanced alkalinity resistance, increased number of pours and reduced cost per pour. Balanced construction ensures panel stability.
